my favorite martians

April 25th was apparently Alien day. Named because of some obscure number combination that was placed on the side of the ship in the movie Alien. I'd roll my eyes at this, except I LOVE that movie and so having a day where I get to see people celebrate it is silly and amazing!

It got me thinking of ALL of the aliens I love, and inspired me to share a couple of my other favorite aliens. I used construction paper and paint to make these guys. Can you guess what these aliens are all from?

Making taxes a little more magical

Did you know that Main Street in Disney World is full of classic U.S. Mail boxes? You can still send mail from them, and the get stamped with Mr. Mickey Mouses town of residence. I figured the people who work for the IRS have a pretty bland job so I hope my mail to them makes their day a little brighter, on this tax due date!

Over the weekend, my best friend came in for a visit. Last time he was visiting us, Alex and I were living in San Francisco and we took a sporadic day trip down to LA to go to Disneyland.

It only seemed appropriate to make a goal out of going to as many Disney parks as we can, within our friendship. So we went to Disney World!
I had big plans of pulling out the old bulky Fuji land camera, and bringing my new little personal camera, but when we finally got into the park, I realized I had forgotten them at home! I ended up just using my iPhone and had such a fun day. Even after my phones battery died.

Share Your Ears!

neyo

During Disneylands recent 60th anniversary tv special, a really great charity campaign was introduced called #ShareYourEars, where they will donate $5 to Make A Wish Foundation for every photo shared of you and your “ears” and hash-tagged #ShareYourEars. What makes this campaign extra special to me is that I was lucky enough to shoot some of the portrait photos that Disney is sharing for this campaign and it’s great watching them being spread around knowing that it’s for such a good cause.

Sometimes I'm really so proud of the work I get to do.
