Hong Kong

Getting ready to head out to China. I'm interested to see what Shanghai is like. All I have to compare it to is the time I spent in Hong Kong which was under British rule for so long, that I wonder is it very different? Is trying to make this comparison similar to trying to find the similarities between New York and Los Angeles, just because they're cities in the same country? WHO KNOWS!!

What the excitment for this trip HAS gotten me to do was revisit some shots I took from Hong Kong. It was such a vibrant and unique place, that I can't wait to go back to the waaay East Coast!

A birthday well documented

For my birthday, I treated myself to a Fuji Instax mini camera! Since I shoot so many crisp, well planed advertisement shots all day, having a such a lo-fi point-n-shoot no-retouching-anything is like a breath of fresh air.

When my friends sang me happy birthday this year, I was so giddy that I couldn't stop smiling. Not to mention the added humor of them waiting for the moment that I would try to blow out the assorted mix mash of candles. My wish to always find something to laugh about happened before  I could even blow out the candles!

Shaping light

my favorite time of day used to be sunrise. I used to love beating the sun to the start of the day. However, we recently made a move to a new home with a west facing balcony and its changed my outlook on the subject. One of my new favorite things is winding down the day on the balcony and watching all the patterns the sun and our fencing creates. I recently went ahead and got some primo seating so that my little best friend can join me in watching these shapes and colors around 7pm every night.
